Updating Your EmpowerLocal Header Script

As part of our ad tech upgrade, we'll need you to replace your existing EmpowerLocal header script with a new version.

This is typically a quick update that takes just a few minutes and helps ensure your site is running the latest version of our technology, including support for additional demand partners, improved performance, and future enhancements.

Step 1: Locate Your Existing Header Script

Open your website's header file, theme settings, tag manager, or other location where your EmpowerLocal header script is currently installed.

The easiest way to find it is to search for:

adbundle.empowerlocal.co

If you're using the previous version of our header script, it will look similar to:

Step 2: Remove the Old Script

Once you've located the old script, remove the entire line from your site.

Only one EmpowerLocal header script should be installed at a time.

Step 3: Add the New Header Script

Replace the old script with the new version provided by the EmpowerLocal team.

The new script will look similar to:

<script src="https://cdn.empowerlocal.co/dist/bundle.js?publicationKey=PUB-ID-XXXX" async></script>

Make sure to use the publication key provided specifically for your publication.

Step 4: Save and Publish

Save your changes and publish or deploy them to your website.

Verifying the Update

After the new script has been added, please let your EmpowerLocal contact know. We'll verify that everything is loading correctly and complete any remaining configuration on our side.
